This project aims to provide assistance to relevant authorities in EU Member States in the programming period 2014-2020 and support effective implementation of ESIF actions in the health sector, and thus promote a positive impact on the populations’ health and their access to quality, affordable and sustainable health care in all EU Member States.

The Mapping of the use of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) in health for the 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 programming periods is available online. Based on the programming documents, it provides an overview of actions that each Member State envisage for support from ESIF in the health sector in 2014 – 2020. It also contains an analytical part summarizing the results across the 28 Member States.

Due to significant delays in the adoption process of operational programmes, not all deliverables could have been finalized and published before planned end of the project. As agreed with DG SANTE and CHAFEA, the report ‘Mapping of the use of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) in health for the 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 programming periods’ will be finalized and published on this website after adoption of all operational programmes for the 2014-2020 programming period.

The project ‘Effective use of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) for health investments in the programming period 2014-2020’running from October 2013 to April 2015 formally ended up with a meeting organised for the European Health Attachés on 2 June 2015 in Brussels. Unlike the national or regional workshops, the final meeting aimed at wider spreading awareness about the project and its results/outputs among broader group of stakeholders. Final versions of the Guide and documents developed within the Technical toolkit have been published on the website. Electronic versions of the documents are available in relevant sub-sections under section ‘Tools & Guidelines‘.

EY also met individually with Bulgarian representatives participating in Brussels to compensate for the national visit to Bulgaria which didn’t happen. EY focused on the dissemination of key information delivered through national visits and provided Bulgarian representatives with a compendium document reflecting all the issues reflected by EY in the other Member States involved in the project dissemination phase.

The second regional workshop gathering of representatives from different Member States took place in Brussels. Six Member States were represented: Bulgaria, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia.

The first regional workshop gathering representatives from different Member States took place in Prague. Four Member States were represented: Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. For more details see section 'Regional workshops' section.

15/12/2014
Two regional workshops are being planned. The first will take place on 26 January 2015 in Prague and the second will take place on 9 February 2015 in Brussels.

The tenth workshop took place in Hungary. For more details see section 'National workshops' section.

The Project expert group met at the Steering Committee on 14 October 2014 in Brussels. The main aim of this meeting was to review project outputs before their finalization and discuss the set-up of regional workshops planned for Q1 2015.
